This helps us understand where our users are located and improve service availability.
- Referral and Acquisition Data: We record how you arrived at Greetopia, including the referring website (e.g. a search engine or social media platform), any marketing campaign parameters (UTM tags) present in the URL, and the first page you visited. To exercise these rights, please contact us using the information provided in the "Contact Us" section below.
7.1 Deleting Your Account
You can permanently delete your account at any time from your account settings. Deletion takes effect immediately, and we remove your profile, your saved contacts and event reminders, the cards you created, and the files you uploaded.
A few things are handled differently:
- Cards that another person paid to upgrade are kept for their recipient. Your name is shown as "Former user" and your email address is removed.
- Messages you added to other people's cards stay on those cards. We remove the details that link them to you, namely your email address and account identifier.
- Payment records are kept in a reduced form, with personal details removed, for up to seven years, as required by UK tax and accounting law.
- We keep a minimal record of the deletion itself (a timestamp and a one-way hash of your email address) as a compliance record, so we can show the deletion was carried out properly if we are ever asked.
- If you have unsubscribed from marketing emails, we keep a record of that so we do not contact you again.
7.2 Groups and Shared Credits
If you use a group's shared credits to upgrade a card, the owner of that group can see that the card was created, including the sender and recipient names and a link to the card, along with how many credits each member has used. We provide this because the group, as the party that paid for the credits, has a legitimate business interest in accounting for how they are used.
- This usage history is retained for as long as the group exists. Groups are not deleted, only archived, and archived groups keep their history.
- If a group owner removes you from a group, the entries for cards you already upgraded with that group's credits remain visible to the owner, because the group paid for those cards.
- If you delete your account, cards you upgraded with a group's credits are preserved and remain in that group's records under your name, while your sender details on the delivered card are anonymized.
8. Children's Privacy
Our services are not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us immediately, and we will take steps to delete such information.
9. International Data Transfers
Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your country of residence. These countries may have data protection laws that differ from those in your country. By using our services, you consent to the transfer of your information to these countries.
10. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
